Renew Items

Most Library materials borrowed from the Santa Barbara Public Library System or from another Black Gold Cooperative Library System member library may be renewed in person, by telephone, or by computer unless someone else has placed a hold request on the item or there are charges or fees of $10 or more on the borrower’s account. Renewals on circulating materials are for an additional 21-day period, except for renewals of videotapes or DVDs, which may be renewed for seven additional days. “Express Books” may not be renewed.

Renewals may be requested in person at your local Library, or:

To renew by telephone:

• Call toll free 1-800-354-9660 from within the 805 area code. If you are calling from outside of the 805 area code, dial (805) 546-0499 (not a toll free number);

• Please have your Library card barcode number available;

• Please have the item barcode number available for each item to be renewed.

To renew via the Library catalog:

• From the Library Catalog, click on the "Login" link in the upper-left of the screen next to Welcome.

• Enter your Library card barcode number and your last name or password;

• Click on “Items Out"

• Click on “Renew All " or select the items you wish to renew and click "Renew checked"
