Policies

The Santa Barbara Public Library System welcomes you. The following policies are in effect – please observe them for the benefit of all.

• Smoking in the library is not permitted at any time.

• Persons sleeping in the library will be awakened. Repeat violators will be asked to leave.

• Unlawful behavior, including public intoxication in violation of the law and disturbing the peace, will be reported to the police and the violator will be escorted by the police from the library.

• Pets, except dogs assisting the handicapped, are not permitted at any time.

• Personal possessions must not inhibit use of library facilities.

• Bulky parcels may be inspected upon leaving.

• Offensive personal hygiene will not be allowed to inhibit use of the library by others. Persons with offensive personal hygiene may be asked to leave the library.
