:: Books & Magazines for Sale

After review by professional staff, donations of books and magazines which are not added to the Library materials collection, which are withdrawn from collections, or are given directly to Friends of the Library groups may be offered for sale to the general public. Volunteers select, price, and sell used books and magazines with proceeds used for support of Library collections and services.

Currently, book sales are held at the following locations:

• Central Library, (805) 564-5608 - has an on-going selection of material for sale located in the main reading room.

• Carpinteria Branch Library, (805) 684-4314 - the Friends of the Carpinteria Library operate a used book store at 929 Linden Avenue, open Monday through Saturday from 12 - 4pm. The bookstore telephone number is (805) 566-0033.

• Goleta Branch Library, (805) 964-7878 - has an ongoing selection of material for sale located in the reading room area.

• Eastside Branch Library, (805) 963-3727 - has an ongoing selection of material for sale in the reading room area; in addition, the Friends of the Eastside Library hold a special book sale annually in August.

• Montecito Branch Library, (805) 969-5063 – has an ongoing selection of material for sale in the main room.

• Solvang Branch Library, (805) 688-4214 – has an ongoing selection of material for sale on a cart in the lobby area; in addition, the Friends of the Santa Ynez Valley Libraries hold occasional weekend book sales throughout the year.
